Year 3 2023 - 2024

Welcome to Year 3

Our focus this year is to guide and support the children in their transition from KS1 to KS2, with the aim to build up your child's independence and confidence. There will be more of a focus on your child taking more ownership and responsibility for their learning and being aware of all the resources they need for their day, which we know you will support them with. They will be expected to complete and return homework on time and will be encouraged to take ownership and responsibility for remembering the things that they need in school; for example, ensuring they get their reading diary signed by an adult at home and bringing it to school every day. We want the children to support each other and work collaboratively, learning from each other and gaining the confidence and resilience to 'have a go!'  We will encourage the children to use the tools around them in their learning environment such as working walls, table resources/prompts and their peers. We will continue to support and guide them in their learning when needed and strongly encourage them to ask for help if they need support.
