On Friday 10th November we had our annual history day where we learn all about different aspects of WWII as well as commemorating Remebrance day. 

In Year 2 we focused on rationing. We looked at which foods were rationed and discussed the reasons why. We then linked this to Maths, adding up items of food totals to find out their ration token values.

We also looked at a happier area of the War which was the events of VE day and the celebrations people had all around Great Britain when this news was announced. The children were challenged to write a diary as if they were there during this joyous time.

The children made a fabulous effort to come dressed for this era and wore 1930's/40's style clothing.
