Notarianni's come to Stanley!

Is it really Summer without a Notarianni's? 

We are so lucky to have had the owners of Notarianni's, Luca and Maddie into see us and talk to us all about their family business. 

Nottarianni's has been running since 1928 and Luca and Maddie were able to tell us about how it all started, what they do each day and how their business has changed through generations. Unfortunately, they didn't share their secret recipe with us!

Learning about our local history is so important to us as it allows us to understand about the changes in our area,the roots of our community and also giving us the opportunity to develop our communication and language skills when asking questions, turn taking and listening to others share their experiences. 

We finished off our visit in the best way possible... with... ICE CREAM! 

Notarianni's only sell one flavour, Vanilla. We thought it was utterly delicious and couldn't wait to tuck in. When we got back to class, we spoke about our senses and how the ice cream looked, smelt, felt and tasted! 

We are now enjoying our new role play corner that has been transformed into Notarianni's or should we say 'Stanley Ices'. What fun!
